Once you get that perfect Fraser Fir home, there ara few things you should do to make sure it stays fresh and fragrant until Christmas.
- Make a fresh cut. Cut about 1/2" off the bottom of your tree before you place it in the stand.
- Use a stand that will hold at least a gallon of water.
- Be sure to check the water level often and keep it full. During the first 24 hours your tree may take up a full gallon. After that, approximately a quart a day.
- Keep your tree away from heat sources: vents, fireplaces, wood stoves, and even sunny windows.
- Check all lights and cords for any possible broken bulbs or frayed cords
- Be cautious about overloading circuits
- Always unplug lights before leaving home or going to bed
