Why pick our Choose and Cut Christmas Tree Farm over others ? We are a small family owned and operated Christmas Tree Farm and Nursery. Our father, Harold, started our small business over 25 years ago. Today, we all, my father Harold, my brother, Mark and me and my husband, Chris work to try to provide quality evergreens to meet your needs. We provide a personal touch you probably won't find many other places.

Come enjoy a hayride to pick out the perfect tree and enjoy the spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains then head back to the house enjoy a cup of hot apple cider or hot chocolate on the porch. While you're sitting there you may see our two goats (Bill and Rosie) nibble on nearby grass or our Shetland Pony (Charlie). Off in the distance, sheep or our other horses may be grazing on the hillside or you may see cattle in the field. You are sure to see our Red Heeler, Molly at some point during your visit. She is usually the greeter to the farm.

Ever want to know about honeybees or how a farm works? Just strike up a conversation with my dad Harold. He has been farming all his life. His family moved to the Stratford Community of Alleghany County in the 1940's. From crops to dairy farming to how to raise a backyard flock, over the years, he's done it all. As a former Agriculture Extension Agent he thoroughly enjoys sharing his knowledge and resources.

So not only do we provide you with the best wreaths, garland and Fraser Fir trees but we also try to make you feel like a family friend. We invite you to come make yourself at home. We want to share our many blessings with you. Happy Thanksgiving.

Care for your Christmas Tree

Once you get that perfect Fraser Fir home, there ara few things you should do to make sure it stays fresh and fragrant until Christmas.

• Make a fresh cut. Cut about 1/2" off the bottom of your tree before you place it in the stand.


• Use a stand that will hold at least a gallon of water.


• Be sure to check the water level often and keep it full. During the first 24 hours your tree may take up a full gallon. After that, approximately a quart a day.


• Keep your tree away from heat sources: vents, fireplaces, wood stoves, and even sunny windows.


• Check all lights and cords for any possible broken bulbs or frayed cords


• Be cautious about overloading circuits


• Always unplug lights before leaving home or going to bed

Trees, Wreaths & Roping Oh my . . . .

We have a wide selection of Fraser Fir Trees in sizes starting at 2'+. We have such a variety because we grow all of our trees from seedling up. Some of the trees have been our our farm for over 12 years.

We also specialize in Fraser Fir and Boxwood Wreaths. We can also add that special touch with some fresh holly. We can customize your order to do mixes of Fraser or White Pine if you wish. Wreath prices start at $10.

Roping comes in sizes to fit your needs. Roping starts at 25' and can do 30', 50', 75' or more. We do roping out of Fraser Fir or White Pine. Prices start at $15.

Choose & Cut 2009

Choose & Cut Season is just around the corner. 2009 Season starts this Saturday, November 21st and runs through December 20th. Come out to the farm and pick your perfect tree. We have a variety of sizes of Fraser Fir available from 2' - 14'.
